This is a drawing that I have created, to support the BLM movement. I used markers and coloured pencils to create this image of a girl who is suffering due to racial injustice throughout the community. I did this to represent the recent events involving George Floyd, who was mercilessly killed by a police officer of different ethnicity purely because of the colour of his skin. I thought this was incredibly unfair and should not be happening in this world, for we all deserve rights, and to at least be treated with respect. I wondered why the colour of our skin really mattered, and why in some situations, it determined whether we were to be treated with respect, or not. I drew this at home during the first lockdown, around June 2020.
